The missing parents are caused by a setting where we only export verified/checked records, also for the parents.
The parents part does not make too much sense: we have changed this now.
I have generated a new export: is this any better?
When hunting down the reason why COL has lost nearly all species of the WoRMS sector Orthonectida
it turns out the subject phylum Orthonectida is wrongly matched to the genus with id
x6
, which is an import artifcat because the genus is missing in the WoRMS exports, see invalid parent id here:https://www.checklistbank.org/dataset/1149/taxon/urn%3Alsid%3Amarinespecies.org%3Ataxname%3A265733
This causes the importer to create an implicit genus. It happens for 5 genera in this dataset:
