The problem

There is a subgroup interested in the carbon cost of climate science

Definition of 'done'

• A rough calculation of the resources needed for calculating different metrics for the REF
• Is it different on different platforms? e.g. JASMIN vs Levante

Is there a timeline that you would like this information? We don't yet have a strong sense of the computational requirements until we have all the metrics implemented.

We will track the execution time for each metric so should be able to provide aggregated values
