apt-get -qq flag doesn't hush root #1

Although apt-get has a -q and -qq flag, root gets the whole story no matter what.

Possible solutions:

Pipe output to disk instead of stdout?
Don't be root?
Sit back in awe as the screenfuls scroll ad nauseam?
