I have a platform dedicated to kitesurfing, windsurfing, and wingfoiling, where I display real-time data from all open-data weather stations worldwide on a map.

https://letskite.ch

For safety reasons, I would also love to display the alerts you issue for lakes. This would allow me to warn users about strong wind gusts.

Do you plan to make this type of data open source?

@libertykite I am not part of MeteoSwiss, but can tell you that alerts for lakes and rivers are issued the Federal Office for the Environment. See for example https://www.hydrodaten.admin.ch/en/current-situation
I don't know if they are already publish it as open data, but you could ask or look here https://opendata.swiss/en/organization/bundesamt-fur-umwelt-bafu

@libertykite Please note, that warnings of MeteoSwiss are already available for free (but wil not be available through Open Data). You have just to pay the setup, delivery and maintenance fees. It is only available as a CAP-XML file which would be sent to your SFTP-Server or Email. For further inquiries you may fill out the contact form on www.meteoswiss.admin.ch.

@eins78 Thanks for the tips, but the alerts for Swiss lakes are based on very short-term weather forecasts—thunderstorms, approaching low-pressure systems, etc. So, this clearly falls within the domain of MeteoSwiss.

@mchrig Thanks for the info! It would make more sense to group everything on the OpenData platform ;-)
