I am encountering this when connecting to metamask ReferenceError: nethereumUnityInstance is not defined

You are not using the index.html provided for the webgl build, you need to create this variable https://github.com/Nethereum/Nethereum.Unity.Webgl/blob/main/WebGl/index.html#L111
