Syntax error: "(" unexpected

I've been working to setup a DVM-V24 to connect to an ATAC and P25Reflector on my P25 network and it looks like something is not starting correctly to initialize P25Link and the DVM-V24:

$ sudo /opt/p25link/p25link
/opt/p25link/p25link: 1: Syntax error: "(" unexpected
$

I've checked all of the configuration settings--know why I might be getting the error above? I need to run version 2.40.8 to support the DVM-V24 board, however, do not get the error with previous versions 2.34.3 and 2.40.6, that appear to have been released prior to DVM-V24 board support.

I am not supporting the project any more as some hams just like to threaten to sue or sue other hams for a living. I do not want to be one of them.
