New note while viewing notes with tag creates note without tag

Current behaviour

Create a note with a new tag.
Select the tag under the notebooks on the left side of the screen to view all notes with the tag.
The note is visible.
Press "+ New note" to make a second note.
The second note is created. It does not have a tag. But, it appears in the list of notes as if it does have the tag. It is created in some notebook (last-viewed notebook?).
Navigate to any notebook.
Navigate back to view notes that have the tag.
The new note that you made is no longer in the list of notes with the tag.

Expected behaviour

Note should have the tag by default and appear in the list of notes with the tag. Or, the note should not have the tag and should not appear in the list of notes with the tag. Further, it may be surprising to the user which notebook the note appears in. Perhaps it would make sense for the note to not be in any notebook or prompt the user?
