WHY CANNOT USE THE TOUCHPAD WITH NVDA?

Hello all, why can't we use the touchpad with NVDA on Windows computers like VoiceOver does on Mac? Isn't it possible to implement this as a feature in NVDA? Could you please clarify this here?

You can, turn on mouse tracking. But yeah it would be cool if you could swipe on it and such like with a Mac trackpad but I bet NVDA can't really do it without major hacking. All you could probably do is watch for mouse coordinates to do certain things which would end up being goofy. I'm not a programmer though so who knows.

I saw a project https://github.com/ichisadashioko/windows-touchpad that uses the touchpad to do handwriting.

It does this by reading raw HID input from the touchpad device, and intercepting mouse actions to prevent mouse movement when using the touchpad.

However the physical mouse also cannot work, and it does not work well with multi-touch, at least on my device.
