Error while getting a commit: The request could not be processed because too many files changed

While trying to get a commit using REST API, we are getting the following response:
{"message": "The request could not be processed because too many files changed", "documentation_url": "https://docs.github.com/rest/commits/commits#get-a-commit"}

Request URL: https://api.github.com/repos/<repo_name>/commits/<commit_hash>

We've checked that the commit only contains one file. In that also, only two lines are changed.

We are getting this error randomly. Encountered this error twice already.

Can someone please explain what is the issue here?

Yes!

Engineering believe this issue is being caused by timeouts when checking for changes in workflow files. To resolve this, can you try adding the workflow scope to the Personal Access Token you're using when making the respective API calls? Let us know if this helps!

I added workflows permissions to my GitHub App and it fixed this issue 👍
