Issue/Bug description:
If a file name and its associated path do not fit into the "File->Open recent file" list, the behavior seems to be to truncate the end of the line, which effectively chops off the actual file name. This means that if I opened a couple of files from the same directory, I see the directory listed multiple times, but no file name.

See screen capture below. Each entry ending in / is actually a unique file within the listed directory.

Expected behavior:
Preference would be to either:
a) Increase the recent files dropdown width to accomodate longer path/filename combos or
b) Partially truncate the left side of the path, but always show the file name.
