My name is Jacob Foster.

I spent a decade in the software industry, serving corporate interests as I gained skills, honed my talents, and burnt myself out. I "made it" to the "American Dream" that so many of us were sold. As it turns out, the constant consumption and need for more doesn't really make you happy after all. So I gave it up to figure out what actually makes me happy.

For me (and it seems many others), happiness is found living in community with loving people, and living in harmony with nature. So, that's what I'm building towards now.

I quit the corporate world a while ago, and have been doing private consulting to pay the bills while I build our vision for BioHarmony. I'm getting a little closer to that dream every day.

Now I want to take my skills and talents as an engineer, and build something that resonates with that source of happiness. I want to build software that helps people regenerate their own chunk of earth. I want to build OpenEcoBuilder.

I also want to contribute more of my energy in the software space towards other Open Source projects with similar values. Everything of true value to all life can and should be Open-Sourced. We have work to do.
