I've been working in tech since 2007 as a full-stack web developer, engineering manager, and enterprise architect. I love building resilient systems, designing great developer experiences, and tackling complex product challenges where I can blend technical acumen with a deep appreciation for aesthetics to create balanced, refined solutions.
📓 Clear, thoughtful technical communication
💻 Crafting software that balances elegance and practicality
🎯 Coaching teams to thrive at the intersection of technology and business
📚 Continuous learning—from systems architecture to rocketry
Engineering is focused technical work but it never happens in a vacuum. To be a leader in tech, you need:
- Deep technical expertise
- To correctly interpret and influence the business context
The business context shapes the nature of the work.
The power structures in organizations shape behavior.
The aggregate behavior across levels of an organization creates the functional1 engineering environment.
Guiding teams through this landscape is a rewarding challenge. When I'm not wrestling with ill-defined problems, I find it refreshing to build things for my own edification. Check out my rocketry projects.
