I love that we have proper bounding on the histogram now with #146. one thing I find myself wanting now is the ability to pan left and right without clicking and draging. scrolling up and down zooms, I wonder whether scrolling left and right could be used to pan (without making zooming annoying)

This could be nice! Hacked together something for VisPy on this branch, give it a shot and let me know what you think!

yeah, worked great for me. (on desktop, I rediscovered that shift-scroll works for horizontal scrolling and the behavior was great... didn't check laptop touch pad yet)

Cool, I can look into the pygfx side of things and then file a PR!

As an aside, I haven't yet done anything with trackpad gestures, but that is beyond this issue anywho...
